As a contractor for many years and attracted to the beauty, energy ratings, and durability of metal roofing we enjoyed selling and installing metal roofing on our customers' homes and outbuildings. A wise uncle of mine, who was also a professional roofer, once told me that he refuses to install an exposed fastener metal roof on a house. When asked why, he explained that exposed fasteners will go bad. It is not a question of if they will, it is just a matter of when they will go bad. His solution: “standing seam metal roofing.” With that bit of information stored in the back of my mind and the opportunity of helping a friend install a standing seam metal roof, I became an advocate.
My first project was a porch roof I installed at my shop. One of the challenges we faced with marketing standing seam metal roofing was the extra cost involved in crating and shipping. In the fall of 2016, we began to seriously think about the benefits of purchasing a roll former that would produce standing seam metal roofing on the job site. By the end of the year, we were the privileged owners of a New-tech roll former, a coil slitter, and a 12’ hand trim brake. CFR Metals became our new trade name as we promoted what we consider a roof worth investing in, “Concealed Fastener Roofing.”
Today we are excited to be able to offer custom trims up to 21’ in length, metal cut to size at your job site, the accessories you need to complete your roof, and the tools to assist you in the production and installment of your project. I am especially thankful to my production team for their valuable input in setting up shop, feedback from the field, and the hard work they put into making it happen. Our goal is to do it right and to assist you in your roofing projects.
